Redesigning User Management for Enterprise Accounts

Yodeck’s enterprise accounts, with hundreds of users, faced challenges in managing lower-level users. Admins had to manually assign permissions and roles, often leading to errors or delays. The goal was to create a solution to streamline this process and improve the experience for account admins.

Enterprise users struggled with managing permissions, inviting new users, and ensuring proper access levels for each team member. Admins spent excessive time on these tasks, which led to inefficiencies and mistakes.

To resolve this, we designed the "User Groups" feature, allowing admins to organize users by role and delegate permissions to local levels. This reduced manual work and gave more control to local teams.

We created wireframes and prototypes, focusing on easy role assignments and workspace access control. The key idea was to allow admins to create groups based on organizational roles and assign them to specific workspaces with clear permissions.

To validate the design, we conducted 5 user interviews with enterprise admins using Figma prototypes. Feedback helped refine the UI, clarify workflows, and ensure the feature met real-world needs.
